Violent images and scenes of a sexual nature… nice one.
This week, I was working on an amazing trailer for a new Irish action film – in this instance, the trailer has been made in advance of the film’s production, to seek further funding before the main shoot takes place.
It’s proper, adult action stuff and absolutely brilliant: I had a ball scoring music for this trailer. I grew up watching movies that put guns and martial arts centre-stage, from the big-budget, blockbuster levels of ‘Commando’ (1985) and ‘Die Hard’ (1988) to the extremely ropey, cheap-ass productions like ‘Invasion USA’ (1985) and ‘Nine Deaths Of The Ninja” (1985). Not detecting much of a discrepancy between the two levels at the time, I thought they were all great.
Actually, I will write a little feature article about trailer music specifically, because it’s a very different beast to ‘normal’ film music.
COMING SOON…
